The Shimano L04C Metal Metal brake pads are durable, give high braking power and are compatible with most Shimano road bike disc brakes and the Shimano XTR M9100 mountain bike brakes. Good wear resistance and heat dissipation
The Shimano L04C Metal are sintered brake pads with cooling fins that are compatible with Shimano road bike disc brakes. These brake pads consist of a compound of resin mixed with metal particles, placed on a backing with cooling fins. This compound is therefore very hard and wear-resistant.
Sintered brake pads by themselves are more resistant to the heat that can occur when braking a lot. This property is enhanced by the cooling fins placed on the backing plate, which minimises heat build-up.
The disadvantage of these brake pads is that they do not engage as quickly as organic or semi-metallic pads and make more noise during braking.

Not compatible with all disc brake rotors.
These hard brake pads are not compatible with all disc brake rotors. These brake pads can only be used on ground disc brake rotors as they consist of harder material. Pressed, soft disc brake rotors are only compatible with soft, organic brake pads. This is because these will quickly wear out with harder brake pads.
